Chinese food @ its best
7 days 12 hours ago
Ok, this is a takeaway so no sitting. You can only call them and order food that will surely be delivered to you. Now thats sorted lets move straight to the food. Ive always been a fan of chinese food but my favourite restaurant on the boulevard lahore really discouraged me in my previous visits till I discovered shifu at a friends. This food was exquisite & had an absolute great taste!!! Must try the sesame honey chicken, the garlic gravy and the chowmein. I think anything picked from the menu has been great so far and I have tried it a couple of times. Highly Recommended!!!

Big NASTY Burger
3 months 3 weeks ago
OH MY. I havent had such a bad meal in my life. I always thought mcdonalds had the thing to make the nicest burgers but never thought they had the talent to make the worst as well. The ads were all over the place and I thought id try this one. They made a big burger to pin down the 'hard' competition they got recently but not only the burger was a pretty ugly sight it had the sickening taste. To begin with it had a burned aroma to it. I guess that was a bad recreation of the CHAR BOILED HAHA! Yuck! You dont burn it sweety its just a different recipe. DUH! The sauces, ingredients everything that could easily drop a healthy man standing. I feel sick and right after eating it tossdown is the first place I wanted to be to warn everybody! Take my advice. Go there if you want to, dont waste a good 400 Rs on that NEW BIG TASTY BURGER. Its a scam! :)

Osama Bin Burger | Super
3 months 4 weeks ago
In our times OSAMA is down right a peculiar name and you would find yourself go, who what? But one thing is for sure you have this name and you are on peoples tongues. This time around it was lip-smacking good. The word was around for this one and I had to taste it not because of the name, because it was about burgers. When we reached the place, the first thing we noticed was the crowd of people that was flocking this place. The burgers were fresh, they tasted good specially the fries, unlike the re-furbished you get at these places and I think this place needs an applause for its effort. You must try it!

Best Icecream
2 months 1 week ago
Summer is here and the hunt for icecream begins. I am not keen on having those factory icecreams scooped out of the box topped with canned cherry. I can probably do that at home. What I am looking for is something more naturally made, something that you make yourself and proudly serve is an icecream joint. I found one such place and that place is HOT ;). I was out of touch with this place for quite sometime but it brought me back to itself. Good things never die eh! Frozen Strawberry Yogurt all the way!

Chicken Bread like none other
3 months 2 weeks ago
Chicken breads here are quite a hit with bakery customers. Most of our local bakeries have this as a hot selling item but no one has it like Calories; HANDS DOWN! If you are a fan of this type of bread you must try the cheese topped fresh chicken bread that fulfills every pasta lovers fantasy with the cheese stringing while you cut your piece and the freshest of veggies on top. Everything super about this bread!

Splendid View of Fabulous Food
4 months 5 days ago
Splendid view- a small cozy eatout in U Block Defence is a somewhat new entrée in the Lahore dining out scene and is here to stay, taking into account the splendiferous experience we had. The team consists of veterans who have been running a chain of restaurants with the same name in Kenya. Splendid View invited us for a feast one fine evening, an offer that was hard to refuse. Excited as we were , a big blow to the taste buds was not a high expectation and we were humbly willing to settle for just something decent. While we waited for our food, I must mention the extremely vibrant and intriguing conversation with the owner, Adil, who is quite a fellow and thoroughly suited for the hospitality business (sadly, a quality that is not that easy to spot in the industry these days). In the midst of our animated conversation, we were bombarded with a feast. Yes, almost like the endless table of scrumptious food served to Kings and Queens. The only problem with being served like royalty is the indecisiveness that follows when you have so much food staring at you! From steaks to mughlai handi, it was all there. We dug into each dish bit by bit, carefully scrutinizing the taste like Sherlock Holmes investigating a crime scene. I must say the food was really good and the presentation even better. Just to give you a glimpse of what we had; kebabs, chowmein, the mughlai handi; which I might add was an absolute delight. The cheese naan was as rich as a pizza. On an odd day I wouldn’t mind having just the cheese naan with some cold black soda. But the real treat were the steaks. I am talking about the real deal here. Big juicy pieces of meat topped with fresh veges and cream, cooked to splendid perfection! The most surprising thing happened to be the price of the entire menu, specially the steaks. Just recently I tried steaks from another family restaurant near liberty (yes the famous one) , so I couldn’t help but compare the two. Let me tell you, without a doubt these steaks were better and also half the price. We strongly recommend the black pepper steak. The food was good, the ambience was pleasant starting from the dining area to the kitchen. The service was immaculate and the wonderful attitude of the staff is worth mentioning here. Everything won our hearts and it would only be our conscientious duty to state that Splendid View has the potential to win plenty more.

Quite a Handful
9 months 3 weeks ago
Sheikhoo was a name that hit me the wrong way whenever I passed by it; always made me wonder. It seemed to be out of place with all the mondelanos, nandos, freddys around. So we did what we had to; explore. Lucky for us we got invited to pay a visit to the place. This place had tia maria in its days and now its all gone sheikhoo. Entering from the left of the building the alley caught our attention with its open air setting and suddenly the idea of outdoor dining seemed all too enticing. But we were invited inside first; pretty decent dining setup in the hall as well but what was really nice was the long hallway with sitting on the side for sheesha lovers. Everything in that spot was done perfectly; the multicolor light globes on top of each table, the table themselves and the area. Why do seesha lovers get the best in life? Why? We looked around, snapped what we liked and by then our food was ready and served. We had chicken Manchurian, Chicken Chili Dry with Egg Fried Rice, Chicken Cheese Burger, Chicken Steak and an array of Sheikhoo signature cocktails including the ginger lemonade, virgin pina colada, chocolate fever and the cherry cutie. Wow doesn’t this sound mouth watering? Let me tell you how it actually was- mouth watering! Honestly we weren’t expecting this taste. The rice was cooked to perfection. Each dish had a separate taste and although Chicken Manchurian is a common thing around we still found this one better. Chicken chilli dry was as beautiful as it looked. They say looks can be deceiving but I guess not in this case, the taste was actually a fraction bit better. The steak wasn’t the best around. Now lets come to the burger. This is of course one of our localized burgers devoured by locals and ones you would munch on at S&P anytime of the day. This was one place that had the same taste as S&P, so even the burger gets a thumbs up. The cocktails were a pleasant follow-up on a good meal but did not have the most exotic of tastes. They were nonetheless a viable replacement of the sodas and because sheikhoo is so well priced despite the fact it’s around MM Alam road, a combo for a main course with any cocktail wouldn’t worry you at bill time. Honestly! We think this place is as good as the restaurants around (actually a bit better in our experience), and to top it all off its well priced or actually very well priced. The varied ambience is something that adds to the flavor. If you haven’t, you must!

The Perfect Fuzon
8 months 2 weeks ago
Hot fuzon was one of those places that always intrigued us in a peculiar way. Honestly, we were never too sure of what it was all about ; a cafe, a coffee place, a gourmet restaurant or a sheesha bar? To rid ourselves of all preconceived notions we were invited by the Hot Fuzon team themselves. A deal that was hard to refuse even at gun point. We reached there at midnight and were surprised to see flocks of people still there even on a weeknight. But it did not take us long to hijack the place, snooping around the whole area like Alice in wonderland. In a couple of moments it all made sense - HOT FUZON. It was a perfect blend of all i.e. an exquisite dine-in lounge, coffee place, a sheesha place and a sports bar. Even if you dont believe in love at first sight, you most certainly will change sides when you enter Hot Fuzon. We were just letting the entire ambience sink in when suddenly we were bombarded with courses of meals starting with the main course. There was the Grilled Chicken burger, the Texas Beef Burger, the Hot Fuzon Special Club Sandwich, the Cream and Mushroom Pasta and the Char grilled Jalapeno Pepper Steak. We wanted to dig in right away but we couldnt, not before our cameras gorged it all down first. We are paparazzis to anything thats edible and beautiful (I mean how often does that happen?), but at times it feels weird when people start staring at us with a weird look while we are busy snapping our food. Lets just put it this way; the steak was good and so was the Texan burger but the grilled chicken burger stole the show; something that can beat any well-established grilled burger in the city. I mean beat, as knock-it-off-its-buns. Thats how good it was. The pasta was absolutely great but (and thats a Big But), the special sandwich was TO-DIE-FOR! The sandwich was a bliss for food lovers with big appetites and acute taste buds. It had two layers; one for chicken and the other for beef, all done very nicely. Right after tossing down the last piece of our meals we had the second and most satiating round; the desserts. By this time let me tell you, our dinner count for the night was already two and we assumed our stomachs couldnt take it anymore. But I couldnt have been more wrong. Without much enthusiasm, we dug into the the molten cake. What happened next is something you need to see for yourself. Ah, what a sight; you dig into the freshly baked cake and find yourself pleasantly surprised with beautifully melted hot chocolate oozing out like lava from a volcano ( dont be scared; I write lava here only to describe the intensity), which is then mixed almost inevitably with its snowy counterpart , vanilla icecream! Simply put; When black and white meet in your mouth, its magic!!! Can there be anything more beautiful in this world? The death by chocolate was also a fine piece of dessert but something else that really impressed us was the cheese cake. Highly recommended!! Besides the food, we loved the ambience, the multiple colors on the wall and especially in the seating area, it was commendable how the sheesha bar was aesthetically placed and separated from the main lounge. Sheeshaholics can smoke their heads off in that section without doing any harm to other people in the premises. Needless to say, we loved the place, the food and everything that needs to be loved in an eatout. We are sure you will too.

Superstar gets beaten by buddies
10 months 4 weeks ago
Ok I had to do this. I had to find out what the fuss was about once I ate the superstar. There I said to myself this cant be the best that Hardees has to offer ‘cuz it aint that good’. So I decided on trying the others. It took me a couple of trips till I could come up with the conclusion hence the time that this researched consumed was the most time consuming I have done in my life. I hope I could’ve worked this hard for my college. Anyways, this time around we decided on getting different burgers each and so we sat down with the superstar, Jalapeno Burger, Mushroom and Swiss Thick burger and a Big Burger with Cheese. I started off with the jalapeno burger, not that great honestly so lets move on. See my problem with Hardees till that moment was its very flat taste, my taste buds hardly wake up during the course of eating 200 pounds of beef. We Pakistanis need a little salt in our stuff and we pass out everything else as tasteless. However, when I bit on the swiss burger, thankfully it got the taste buds running. It was a pleaser of a mouthful especially for someone who likes mushrooms. The different tastes, yes I repeat tastes this time around, combined with the meat was all that you would like your food to be. Moving on to the Big burger. It was again something that was really flavorsome. It tastes like the royal burger from another fast food joint bit a little better because of Hardees superior bun quality. So heres our top chart for Hardees. Hardees TOP 4 1. Mushroom Swiss Burger 2. Big Cheese Burger 3. Superstar 4. Jalapeno Burger Please see that there is still more of Hardees to be explored, like their chicken burgers. For now this is what we got.
