I went to Opium Thai last week with my wife. the restaurant was empty at dinner time, probably cause it was a Wednesday. Anyways, the first thing which was a negative was that they did not have a baby chair, we brought along our six month old daughter. So they are not baby friendly.

When it came to ordering, the staff was very helpful, they suggested good food. the hot n sour soup was really really nice. better than many restaurants. better than Yum! infact.

The black bean sauce was also very nice, except my wife didnt like the quail egg in it. it was boiled quail egg. it is supposed to be a delicacy. but the dish was very nice.

the desert was ok. wouldnt recommend that.

the bill came to around 1400/- per head, which i was not expecting. there was no left overs as well. so this i would say is heavy on the wallet

OB Ah well it is on the expensive side but for 2 people we usually order a rice n gravy soup is a no no for summers so its about 750 per pax. The food is really good. N ya the women r not good with quail eggs haha :)

subkadost OB we did order a rice and a gravy but the quantity was only enough for two of us. i think if we were four, then i would have ordered more rice and gravy and one more soup.

OB @slash their food is the drug ;) Addictive. So far ive tried chicken garlic n cherry n pineapple chicken very rich I must say. Read my detailed review for the place.

dazzling_s who says women cant deal with quail eggs? :-) i loved it and not only is it a delicacy, but also extremely beneficial in t.b, bronchial asthma,duodenal ulcers, and more! They also have great anti cancer and anti oxidant effects. Their benefits are also mentioned in the Holy Quran, Surah al Bakarah, verse 57. I have paid four visits to Opium and i can swear by their food. Will write a detailed review soon :-)
