Ramadan 2012 is just around the corner and while we are preparing for it there is one buzz in the air 'food' and specifically Iftar Buffets. Lahore, the city where I belong to has food as a drug. Thats our only high as a matter of fact. Restaurants do a good job keeping up a good supply of our drug.

As a foodie, I was invited by Orchid today for the Pre-Ramadan Iftar Buffet testing. Very generous of them indeed and I would like to thank them in the beginning because it was a great experience. Specially after having one of the most 'bland' chinese from the most hyped restaurants in lahore that a name synonymous to 'delicious'.

As soon as I entered I was escorted to check the buffet and introduced to each of the dishes as if they are my opponents in this game of 'eating' I looked each one of them with a strategy - to eat in the best possible order

As far as I can remember from right to left there was the thai soup (I didn't try), chicken/fish tempura (very nicely done), sweet n sour fish (just awesome and the hot favorite on my table everybody loved it), seven leaf chicken (ah any thai lovers delight, nice and spicy and yes fresh too), mushroom chicken (good), kung pao (just ok), beef in oyster sauce (didn't have the heart to try, beef I always love dry) and Thai noodles (one of my favorite dishes here at orchid)

The food was awesome and what was great is the price they decided for ramadan 675 (inclusive of tax, *covering mouth I HATE TAXES). I think this could be one of the hottest places for iftaris this ramadan. Lets see what the competition has for them.
