McMorning!

McDonalds - Review by NBg

McMorning!

"Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper!" Hmmm… doesn’t it go the opposite way for most? :/ Breakfast- being the most essential meal of the day, however, is most pauperized! Likewise is the investment on it. Well OK! I’m no different either :P Only something too convincing can take me out in the blazing sun for a meal! This was one of those cases. I was tempted to try-out the McDonald’s breakfast since the time I landed in the city because for me McDonald’s has always been a safe bet and I had a strong feeling that their breakfast menu would be as delightful as it seems. Finally, today after Ramadan and festivities of Eid, I happened to wake up earlier than usual and found the conditions in total favor of a Breakfast @ McD! Breakfast @ Home: Impossible! Empty gas cylinder, gotta go out *check* Nearest Eat-out: McD *check* McD’s Breakfast Timings: 6a.m. - 11a.m.; it was 10a.m. *check* Somebody to Accompany: Brother on Holidays, Momz up too & both never say NO to food *check* Wohooo! :D In no time we were found standing in the empty, freezingly cold, family-section of McD, since at this part of the world, family-sections can never be brighter in the morning ;) Anyways, since it was my first breakfast there, I had to take suggestions from my bro and he pleasantly chose for all three of us from their wholesome choices of Egg McMuffin Meal, Sausage McMuffin w/Egg Meal, Sausage McMuffin Meal, Hotcakes Meal and Big Breakfast Meal. He ordered 2 Big Breakfast Meals (each comprised of a Sausage biscuit, Muffin, Egg, and Hash Brown with Coffee), 1 Hotcakes Meal (three Hotcakes with maple syrup & butter, Hash brown with Coffee) and 1 additional Hotcakes serving (3 pieces). By the time we chose and settled on our table, our order was ready! Hash browns, however, were presented later since they take a while to get fried, as was told. I opened one of the boxes all excited and found out that even though my mom and I were to share our Big Breakfast n Hotcake Meals, it was quite a big serving for us women with lil appetite! Anyways, I HAD to take few pics to share on TD since I had all the intentions to review it as well :) In the meantime I heard my mom complaining how cold the coffee was and the order-taker overheard and offered a replacement instantly. Great! :) The inside temperature ofcourse was negatively effecting the hot meals. I started off by assembling the sausage biscuit and egg between the two muffin pieces and cutting it half for my meal-partner! It was love at first bite! The muffin seemed fresh from the oven, warm n tender. The sausage tasted nice and simple, not over-boarded with any particular spice. The plain egg complimented well sandwiched, but I have to mention that nibbling on the remaining egg separately wasn’t too edible, so I had to ask for some sauces to drench it in some flavors. Last but not the least in this meal was the Hash Brown! Honestly, I’ve never tasted it better. At first I wanted to believe it wasn’t potatoe as it tasted something like the crumb-coated fish finger! Delicious. Almost the size of an average burger patty. I’m totally going back for this particular thing again :) Ok now comes Meal 2! Hotcakes Meal which too included Hash brown on the side. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the three cakes in the box. Roughly the size of an average quarter-plate. I poured a decent amount of hotcakes syrup on them with a hint of butter on each. Rolled one and took a bite of it sipping on my coffee alongside. Awesome…. Party in my mouth!!!! It tasted super duper yummy. The hotcake melted in my mouth. Its warmth, velvety texture and the mild sweetness of maple syrup soaked in my taste buds n it glided into my tummy right away! Loved it. The Roasted Coffee did justice too. Summing it up, I wouldn’t claim it to be the best breakfast I ever had, since I’ve had a better one. But considering the amount that we pay here comparatively (SR. 13/meal) , for such filling meals, leaving no room for lunch, is worth it! A truly palatable powerhouse to kick-start the day with! ;)
